The final semester of my senior year I took a whopping 12 credits, all of which were classes that were either fun or easy or both. I did this because they were classes I had always wanted to take, when I had been killing myself every semester before with hardcore science classes, and I felt I deserved a break before I went on to even higher and harder levels of education in vet school. One of the classes I took was a 2 credit class that met once a week for 2 hours with a 5 minute break in the middle. This class is "Wine in Culture and History" a very excellent class with much random information that may prove useful at dinner parties some day. Anyway, I have long since stopped doodling actually *in* class because I have found it does no good for my grades and makes my notes confusing. However I always found myself bored during the 5 minute break because everyone else (well, almost) in the class was in the Hotel School and knew each other and I was from the Ag School. So I would take my break time and draw ponies. This particular picture is of Stormy Sky, the heroine in another of my unfinished works. I drew this picture in about 2 minutes, no exaggeration, and the original is about 2 inches tall. When I saw what I had done I was just tickled pink. I usually do side views of ponies and this was the first time I had tried doing a view from the rear and it just came out beautifully. I was struck by how lovely it was and promptly nicknamed it the "elegant" drawing. The name stuck, it's what the file is labeled as now.
