I don't have very many doodles, and no colored scans from the fall of 2001 because that was the semester I really buckled down, worked my butt off and got on Dean's list, despite taking 19 credits of terror. The following semester, I was still taking 19 credits of terror and working my butt off, but I had gotten used to it so it wasn't as hard. I subsequently did some more doodles than the previous semester and this one really caught my eye. When I was doing it I just fell in love with the curls and felt the distinct need to color it all in. I think she's beautiful. I know that her body (human-half) is way too small for that head, but I got obsessed over those curls. The pony portion looks great I think, and while the tail is very dark, I think it's lovely too. This is where I finally started understanding how to draw and color hair. Some of the shading on the body is a little off, but this is the only copy I have left because the original Photoshop file I was working with got whacked and it'd be way too much work to do it all again just to fix the few problems with her body shading. Her name is Desert Rose and she is a character in one of the fanfics that I'm in the middle of writing.
